1. Did you enjoy participating in the DESIGN CHALLENGE this semester? What aspect did you enjoy the most?

2. What difficulties or challenges did you face in participating this semester?

3. How did the funding meet your project needs? Did you find it generous, or not enough?

4. What do you aim to do with your project results? Do you plan to seek a patent? Pass your results on to a
future design team?

5. Did you enter, or are you considering entering a National Design Competition or presenting your design at a
professional meeting? If so, what or where?

6. Has participation in this program had any impact on your future plans? Impressions of NASA? TSGC?

7. Did you gain any experience via internships or co-op during your academic career? Or do you plan to
immediately following the conclusion of this semester? If so, where?

8. If you were asked to describe the DESIGN CHALLENGE EXPERIENCE to an incoming team . . what would you
say? What advice would you offer coming from the perspective of a one-semester team; or a two-semester team?

9. Can you recommend any new features that could be added to the program to improve it?

10. Was the experience working with the team's NASA mentor a good one? Did you have an opportunity to visit
the mentor's workplace?

11. Was this your first experience working with Texas Space Grant? How would you describe your experience
working with TSGC's Program Coordinator, Debbie Mullins?

12. The DESIGN CHALLENGE is funded by a NASA grant that must be renewed, with justification, each year. If
you were writing justification for continued funding for this program next year - - what would you say?

13. The Program uses a series of milestones and financial rewards to motivate each team. Do you feel this
provides a good level of motivation through the semester?

14. What other factors of participation would you describe as serving to motivate you? Please rank according to

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE DESIGN CHALLENGE SHOWCASE


1. What did you think of the DESIGN CHALLENGE SHOWCASE? Was it an appropriate way to showcase your
project?

2. How did you like the "Meet, Greet, Hang Out and Eat" at Joe's Crab Shack?

3. What did you think of the ISS Ask-an-Expert Display on Space Food Systems?

4. Did you visit Space Center Houston or the Johnson Space Center while you were in town
for the Showcase?

5. How would you rate the South Shore Harbour Conference Center? How was your room? Any problems?

6. Please comment upon the presentation location, set-up, timing, food, awards. Any criticisms?

7. What did you think of the Poster Session? Was it long enough? Do you think the judges had an ample amount
of time to thoroughly review your presentation?

8. Were the awards appropriate? What did you think of the inclusion of the Forum Favorite ballot?
