A Texas Space Grant Consortium Summer Institute
for Middle and Secondary School Teachers
July 14-18, 1997
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
Remote sensing has become one of the most powerful tools we have for the exploring Earth and the other worlds on our solar system. LiftOff '97 will feature some of the techniques scientists use to carry out remote observations, and we will have some fun with the electromagnetic spectrum along the way. Teachers will learn about ongoing programs that bring real remote sensing science into the classroom. We will also learn about new techniques that scientists are using to look beyond our neighborhood in the universe in the search for planetary systems around other stars!
