Mapping Pattern and Process Across Complex Landscapes Using Remote Sensing and GIS

Dr. Timothy Keitt - University of Texas at Austin

Dr. Keitt's research is squarely targeted at NASA's goal to Òstudy Earth from space to advance scientific understanding and meet societal needsÓ (NASA 2006 Strategic Plan). His research involves novel applications of remotely sensed data to the problem of understanding how landscape structure and geometry influence ecological processes ranging from invasive species to deforestation to ecological sustainability. If awarded, Dr. Keitt will use the funds to advance his ongoing projects in the his lab and to seek new sources of funding for future projects. The following are descriptions of projects related to this proposal.
