Construction of Mir and Historical Moments
February 19, 1986 -- Mir Core module launched, reaching an initial mean altitude of only 235 km and later maneuvered to 330 km.
July 30, 1987 -- Kvant was launched and docked to Mir.
December 21, 1987 -- December 21, 1988 - Vladimir Titov and Musa Manarov spent 366 days in orbit, setting a new duration record.
November 26, 1990 -- Kvant 2 was launched and docking operations were completed on December 8.
June 10, 1990 -- The Kristall module arrived at Mir.
July 19 - 25, 1991 -- Sofora antenna was constructed on the exterior of the Kvant module and construction of the 14.5 meter girder was completed.
January 8, 1994 -- March, 1995 Valeri Polyakov completes the longest duration in space.
April 26, 1996 -- Priroda Remote Sensing Module arrives completing the Mir Space Station.
June 25, 1997 -- Accident on Mir: During a manual docking test of a Progress resupply ship, the craft collided with the Spektr Remote Sensing Module causing a temporary loss of air pressure and forcing the three man crew to take power conservation measures. Mir 23 Commander Vasily Tsibliev, Flight Engineer Alexander Lazutkin, and US Astronaut Mike Foale quickly secured the module and began assessing the damage.
