Students Fly Their Experiments on the International Space Station A Dream Come True! High School student from Gatesville, Texas and across the nation had a once in a lifetime experience to conduct science experiments along side of NASA scientists on the International Space Station. These students participated in the building and packaging of protein crystal experiments that were a part of the first experiments aboard the Destiny module of the International Space Station.

Texas Space Grant Awards over $720,000 to University Students all over Texas. Each year the TSGC Fellowship and Scholarship program recognizes exceptional students from across the state of Texas who are pursuing careers in engineering, math and science. These scholarships and fellowships enhance the students education by placing a large emphasis on hands on, real world research.

High School and College Students Fly on the Vomit Comet! NASA plane takes students and their projects over the top in zero Gravity and weightless. High School, Community College and University teams from across Texas and the Nation perform cutting edge microgravity research on NASA's KC-135. In its seventh year of operation approximately 325 teams of students, each with university and NASA mentors have had a unique opportunity to participate in ground breaking research. This program provides a unique academic experience for students to successfully propose, design, fabricate, fly and assess a reduced-gravity experiment of their choice over the course of eight months. That experience includes scientific scholarship, hands-on test operations and education/public outreach activities.

K-12 Teachers trained in a satellite mission to launch November 2001! Teachers from across the nation including Amarillo, Austin and Killeen Texas, work along side of earth scientist on cutting edge research for NASA and are trained in the satellite mission GRACE (Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment). With this experience these teachers are introducing cutting edge science applications into their classroom on the themes Satellite, Gravity, Weather, Climate, Atmosphere and Oceans.
