Progress Report: 29 Sept 95, Lamar - Propulsion

Gary Rhodes

We have been doing research on the topic of spacecraft propulsion system design. This has included, but is not limited to, literature from Ken Rock and our advisor, Dr. W.E. Simon.

From our literature search we have made the following assumptions:

  1. The launch vehicle will be of the Delta-II class.

  2. The main propulsion system (MPS) engine will be the Rocketdyne XLR-132.

Future Work:

We will search for specification sheets for both the Delta-II launch engine and the Rocketdyne XLR-132 engine. If anyone has these specs please post them. We will attempt to gain a better understanding of lunar physics and orbital mechanics.
