Rover Subsystem - Texas Tech 11/10/95 Progress Report

The initial drive design is finalized. A question was brought up from on of our advisors about the motor being very rough at our operating conditions (approx. 20 - 30 rpm). This proble was taken care of with a 4 quadrant servo amplifier. This amp. will enable us to run the motors close to zero rpm smoothly. Our progress on the chasis design has been slow this week, but we will finalize it by the next report. All drawings of the drive motors and chasis will be finished by the next report.

Next Week

Next week the drawings for the drive motors and chasis will be submitted. All camera and sensor information will be ready to submit. An update on the power and thermal requirements of the rover will be included in next weeks report. We will begin work on the end of semester design report due the 1st part of Dec..
