TOPEX animation What is Toppy the satellite?

Well, Toppy the satellite circles the Earth over 800 miles above the surface on a mission to study the oceans. Flying high above the Earth, Toppy the satellite can see a lot of the oceans at once. Before satellites were used, measurements had to be made from ships and boats as they travelled across the sea. Just imagine how long it would take to make measurements across an entire ocean from a boat.
