Sun and EarthThe main energy source which drives the Earth's climate is the Sun. As solar energy approaches Earth, the energy is either reflected by the clouds, or absorbed by the oceans and the land. That energy absorbed by the oceans and land is redistributed by several ways.

Most of the energy on the Earth is transferred by water. As the sun warms a body of water, some of the water will evaporate or change into vapor. As the water vapor rises, the air will begin to cool it and it will eventually condense into water or rain.
